Connecting TikTok requires creating your own app in the TikTok for Developers portal first, since TikTok doesn't offer a simple API key like some other platforms. It takes a few extra steps, but only needs to be done once.
Click Connect on an App
Go to the TikTok for Developers portal, then go to Developer Portal → Manage Apps and click Connect an app.
Select Individual
In the Create app dialog, select Individual as the ownership type.
Enter App Name and Select "Other"
Enter an app name, then select Other as the app type — this covers Login with TikTok, Share Kit, Content Posting API, and more.
Set Up Your Sandbox
Open your app, switch to the Sandbox tab, and click Create Sandbox. Fill in the app icon, category, description, Terms of Service URL, and Privacy Policy URL, select Web as the platform, and enter any URL for the Web/Desktop URL — it doesn't matter here, since this is testing mode.
Add Products
Click Add Product and add Login Kit, Share Kit, and Content Posting API.
Add Your Redirect URL
In the Login Kit section, add this Redirect URI to the Web field: https://app.someposter.ai/api/social-accounts/tiktok/callback. Then turn on the Direct Post toggle in the Content Posting API section.
Add Target Users
Add the TikTok account you want to post videos to under Target Users — posting won't work without this. Then click Apply Changes.
Copy Your Credentials
Copy the Client key and Client secret, and paste them into the SoMePoster TikTok account settings.
