Webflow is a powerful visual web design platform that lets you build and manage professional websites without writing code. Before SoMePoster can publish content to your Webflow site, you need to set up a CMS collection with the correct fields and connect your blog template page. This tutorial walks you through everything — from creating your collection to connecting your page elements — so your Webflow site is ready to receive posts from SoMePoster.
Create or Open Your Site in Webflow
Once you log in to the Webflow dashboard, create a new site or open an existing one.
Go to CMS & Create a Collection
Go to CMS and create a new collection — or use an existing one. Just make sure it uses the same template variables as described in the next steps.
Click Add New Field
In your collection settings, click + Add new field to start adding the required custom fields.
Add a Rich Text Field Labelled 'content'
Select Rich Text as the field type and label it exactly content (lowercase). If you have an existing CMS, rename your current Rich Text field label to content.
Add an Image Field Labelled 'Image'
Add another field, select Image as the field type and label it exactly Image. If you already have an image field, change its label to Image.
Save the Collection
Your collection should now show content (Rich text) and Image (Image) under Custom fields. Click Create Collection. If you are updating an existing collection, the button will say Save Collection.
Open the CMS Collection Page
Go to Pages and click the CMS Collection page you created.
Add H1, Image & Rich Text Elements
You can create the template using AI, or start with a blank page. On the CMS Collection template page, add these elements: H1 Tag, Image, and Rich Text. You can design and customise the layout yourself.
Connect the Title to the Name Field
Select the title/H1 element, click Settings, and click the + button where the text is written. If you don't see the settings bar on the right side, click the small settings icon on the blue bar.
Connect the Image Element to the Image Field
Click the Image element, open Settings, click the + button, and select the Image field.
Connect the Rich Text Element to the Content Field
Click on the Rich Text Block in the navigator, then click the settings icon beside it. Click Settings, then click the + button beside Content.
Now select content from dropdown
Publish the Site
Click Publish in the top-right corner and then click Publish to selected domains to make your site live.
