SoMePoster can publish videos to YouTube through the Create Video Post tool. Make sure your YouTube account is already connected in SoMePoster and that you're using a supported video file — SoMePoster will flag anything that's missing or unsupported.
Go to Create Video Post
Open SoMePoster and click Create Video Post from the left menu.
Select YouTube
At the top of the Create Video Post page, select YouTube as one of the platforms.
Select the Correct YouTube Account
After selecting YouTube, choose the YouTube account or channel you want to post to. If you have more than one YouTube account connected, make sure you select the correct one.
Upload Your Video
Click the video upload area and select a video from your computer. Wait until the upload is complete before publishing.
Write Your Video Content
Write your YouTube video description in the editor. You can add text, links, hashtags, and other information you want to include in the description.
Add a Video Title
Add the title for your YouTube video — it's important, since it's what YouTube uses as the video title. If you don't add one, SoMePoster may use the first line of your content where possible, but it's best to enter a clear title before posting.
Playlist (Optional)
If you want to add the video to a YouTube playlist, select the playlist before publishing. If no playlist is selected, the video will still be uploaded to the channel.
Thumbnail (Optional)
If you want to use a custom thumbnail, upload a thumbnail image. If none is uploaded, YouTube will use its own generated thumbnail.
Tags (Optional)
Add tags to help organize the video on YouTube. Separate tags clearly if the field allows multiple.
Video Location (Optional)
If the video has a location, add it here.
Recording Date (Optional)
If you want to add the date the video was recorded, select the recording date.
Show How Many Viewers Like This Video
Choose whether viewers can see how many likes the video has. Turn this on or off based on how you want the video to appear on YouTube.
Publish the Post
When everything is ready, click Publish or Queue. SoMePoster will upload and publish the YouTube video.
Check the Result in My Posts
Go to My Posts to see the YouTube post status.
Statuses may include:
- Published
- Processing
- Failed
YouTube can sometimes take a little time to process the video. If the post is published, SoMePoster will show the final YouTube video URL when YouTube returns it. If YouTube fails, SoMePoster shows the reason beside the platform — common causes include missing permissions, account connection issues, an unsupported video, a missing title, an upload interruption, or a YouTube processing delay — so you can fix the issue and publish again.
